








Commemorative events for the 38th International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which falls on June 26, 2025, was celebrated across regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
Also, the destruction events of confiscated drugs and chemicals substance were held in Taunggyi, Yangon, and Mandalay in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health. Chairman of the Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung attended the event held at the Ahweiya Kone Thaya hot-air balloon ground in Taunggyi and at abandoned rock mining pit near waste ground at Htee Phaung village tract, together with Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and many other concerned officials.
During the destruction of drugs and chemicals substances events held in Taunggyi, Yangon, and Mandalay, totally 66 types of illegal drugs and chemical substances were burnt. Destroyed drugs included ice, heroin, Happy Water, methamphetamine, ketamine and the stimulant tablets.
And, awards were also presented to those who have performed outstandingly in drug prevention and control activities. Under the guidance of the head of state, Myanmar Police Force and combined tasks force have intensified their efforts to combat drugs, resulting in the seizure and destruction of a large number of drugs and chemicals.
During the one-year period from June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, Myanmar Police Force has identified and seized drugs and chemicals worth 972.461 billion kyats in Myanmar.
