Tourism Development: Promoting tourism through cultural heritage conservation

Union Minister for Culture, Hotels and Tourism U Khin Maung Soe visited the Kayin State office of the Department of Hotels and Tourism Development Implementation and Training on Saturday. He inspected the office premises and gave guidance on the construction of a new office building. At the Cultural Museum, he viewed the exhibitions and displays and gave necessary instructions.

Later, he met with staff from the Hpa-an branch offices of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum and the Department of Hotels and Tourism Development Implementation and Training.

The Union Minister urged the staff to preserve tangible and intangible cultural heritage, collect necessary data for submitting cultural heritage sites to UNESCO and promote tourism through heritage conservation. He also instructed staff to follow civil service rules and regulations and perform their duties responsibly under the supervision of the Kayin State Government. He also fulfilled the welfare needs of the staff.
