








The 38th International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking ceremony was held at the City Hall in Magway, Magway Region in the morning on June 26.
At the ceremony, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, stated that the drug problem is not an issue faced by a single nation or people, but rather a global problem affecting all countries, all peoples, and all of humanity. He emphasized that the danger of drugs affects both the rich and the poor, and large and small nations alike. Since the drug problem is a challenge for all of humanity, he stressed the critical need for the entire public to consider the eradication of drugs as a national responsibility and to cooperate in this effort.
Following this, Chairman of Magway Region Committee on Drug Abuse Control Region Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Moe Min Thein read a message sent by the Chairman of the Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control Union Minister for Home Affairs for the 38th International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Next, a video highlighting the activities of the Central Committee was shown. Awards were then presented to 33 individuals who had made dedicated efforts in drug suppression including 16 from the Tatmadaw, 16 from the Myanmar Police Force, and 1 from the People's Militia. The awards were presented by the Chief Minister, the Commander of the Western Air Force Command, the Region Chief Justice, and regio nministers. After that, the Chief Minister, senior officials, and award recipients took a commemorative group photo.
After the award ceremony, the Chief Minister and guests toured the City Hall, observing the displayed wall posters, general posters, and winning poems, cartoons, and posters commemorating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
