4th Anniversary of MCRD: MCRD UM delivered the opening speech

A ceremony to mark the 4th Anniversary of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development was held at the Ministry’s meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw on 17th June.

The event included the presentation of national- and regional-level performance awards, departmental performance awards, honors for outstanding trainees from civil service universities, the distribution of school uniforms and stationery for children of staff for the 2025–2026 academic year, and a staff lucky drawing.

In his opening speech, Union Minister U Hla Moe stated that the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development was established by the State Administration Council on June 17, 2021, making this the fourth anniversary of its founding.

He emphasized that the ministry plays a key role in fulfilling the nation’s goals, particularly in improving the socioeconomic lives of rural communities. He added that the ministry is working to uplift livelihoods, increase employment opportunities, and raise household incomes in line with its objectives, missions, policies, and programs.

He highlighted the ministry’s efforts in organizing cooperatives, promoting primary production in agriculture and livestock, providing services and trade, supporting rural development initiatives, advancing MSMEs, and strengthening human resource development etc.

Following this, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe urged all departments under the ministry to continue working diligently and consistently toward cooperative and rural development in line with the ministry’s vision and objectives, especially as it enters its fifth year.

Union Minister U Hla Moe, then, presented honorary awards and cash prizes to those who received state-bestowed degrees and commendations. He also handed out jackets and uniforms for staff, school uniforms and school supplies for staff members' children, as well as gifts to winners of the staff lucky drawing.

After that, the Deputy Minister, Director Generals, Rectors, and responsible officials continued presenting the awards, uniforms, school supplies, and lucky drawing gifts to the respective recipients.

To conclude the ceremony, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, awardees, donors, and staff took a group commemorative photograph. The Ministry also performed the observing precepts, taking Paritta Suttas, donating offertories, sharing merits and offering morning meal to the members of Sangha at Thiri-Gandama-Thabyayaye Moe-Goke Vipassana monastery in the morning on the same day commemorating the 4th Anniversary of the Ministry.
