Prize presenting ceremony: Taninthayi Region CM’s Cup football competition

The final match and prize presenting ceremony of the Taninthayi Region Chief Minister’s Cup Open Men’s Football Tournament, was held at the Shwe-Wae Thiri Sports ground in Dawei on June 16.

First, the final match between the Talaing-Taung FC team and the Nantaw Oo FC team took place. The match was watched and cheered on by the Chief minister, region ministers, relevant officials, and sports enthusiasts. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, and Talaing-Taung FC won through a penalty shootout.

After the match, the prize presenting ceremony continued. The Region Government Secretary awarded an honorary cash prize to the Red Cross team for their support throughout the tournament. The Region’s Advocate General and Ministers then presented medals and cash prizes to the best-performing athletes and the best player of the tournament.

Following this, the Region Minister of Economy, U Maung Gyi, awarded individual medals and cash prizes to the runners-up, Nantaw Oo FC. The Minister of Security and Border Affairs, Col. Min Min Lat, presented individual medals and cash prizes to the champions, Talaing-Taung FC.

Finally, the Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko, presented the championship trophy to the winning team of Nantaw Oo FC, it’s reported.
