





The opening ceremony of the Basic Electrical Skill Training Course No. (1/2025) was held at the Electrical Skill Training Hall, located in Kyait Wine, Mayangone Township, Yangon Region on June 16.
The Union Minister for Industry, Dr. Charlie Than, attended the ceremony virtually from the meeting hall No. (30) of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw using a virtual conferencing system.
In his opening speech, the Union Minister stated that the training course is being launched with the aim of enabling trainees to understand the fundamentals of electricity, the Electricity Law, electrical regulations, and operational procedures, to carry out electrical tasks more skillfully, to prevent electrical hazards, to increase employment opportunities and to develop human resources.
He also mentioned that solar power systems are increasingly being used to help meet the nation’s growing electricity demand. These include residential and industrial solar systems that generate electricity for direct use, as well as solar systems connected to the National Grid, distributing power across Myanmar.
Therefore, the course will also cover basic knowledge and technology related to solar power systems. Following the speech, attendees took group commemorative photos with the trainees, marking the conclusion of the ceremony. The Basic Electrical Skill Training Course No. (1/2025) is scheduled to be held from June 16 to August 8, 2025, spanning eight weeks.
The course will include 21 subjects, focusing on practical electrical work, technical knowledge, and inspection procedures. The lessons will be taught by chief inspectors and inspection staff from the Electrical Inspection Department, who have extensive experience in real-world electrical operations and assessments.
