Broadcast Industry: Union Minister visits MYANSAT DTH broadcast operations

Union Minister for Information visited the MYANSAT DTH broadcasting operations site in Yangon on Friday, where BBTV Company is operating under a lease agreement within MRTV compound.

The BBTV Vice Chairman briefed that MYANSAT DTH was officially launched on January 15, 2025, broadcasting a total of 156 TV channels including 16 local and 140 international, under a paid subscription system. Distribution agents are active in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, and Mandalay.

The Union Minister urged the company to comply strictly with the Broadcasting Law, relevant rules, and updated government guidelines. He also emphasized the importance of displaying Myanmar subtitles for foreign dramas and encouraged BBTV to develop MYANSAT into a reliable media service for the public and the nation. Then, the Union Minister and party observed the work process of MYANSAT DTH operations.
