Ye-U Wins Opening Match: Sagaing Region Chief Minister’s Volleyball Cup 2025

Ye-U Township men’s team secured a decisive 2-0 victory over Kyun Hla Township in the opening match of the 2025 Sagaing Region Chief Minister’s Cup Inter-Township U-23 Men’s And Women’s Volleyball Tournament, held at the public sports ground in Monywa.

Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, along with regional officials, attended the opening ceremony of the tournament. In his speech, the Chief Minister encouraged athletes to compete with discipline, sportsmanship, and determination, aiming to become national-level athletes who bring prestige to the country.

Following the ceremony, participating athletes recited the athlete’s oath and exited the field in preparation for upcoming matches. The tournament, scheduled from June 14 to 17, features 27 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams, with a total of 303 players competing.

Later, the Chief Minister and officials visited the Sagaing Region U-18 football team, which will represent the region in the upcoming Inter-Region and State Football Tournament. They offered words of encouragement and provided training kits, uniforms, and nutritional supplements.
