Inspection Tour: Low lying areas flooded in Kalaw and Shwe Nyaung

Due to the heavy rainfall in June, some parts of low-lying areas in Kalaw and Shwe Nyaung are inundated.

On 13th June, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung made inspection tour to oversee the condition of floods.

During the tour, the Chief Minister visited No.1 Basic Education High School and instructed the need to repair school buildings, encouraging the students, enjoying reading at the school library. They then visited No.3 Ward, and viewed the Centennial Building in the Club compound.

The Chief Minister and party also inspected the Kalaw Railway Station, tar paving in front of the station, condition of Kalaw Creek, upgrading of Maw Myay Oo Park and Palaung Market as well as the building of retaining wall in Inn Pyin Township.

In Shwe Nyaung, Yadana Ward 1 and 2 were inundated, and locals have been evacuated to the Kone Hlaing Monastery. The Chief Minister provided foodstuff and cash assistance to the affected communities.
