BRI S/T exchange conference: Myanmar delegation led by MoST UM attended

Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, and a Myanmar delegation arrived in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, the People's Republic of China, on June 9 to attend the 2nd Belt and Road Initiative Science and Technology Exchange Conference.

On June 10, Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw met and held discussions with Mr. Chen Jiachang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. During the meeting, they cordially and openly discussed cooperation for the development of the science and technology sector between the two countries, the implementation of human resource development matters, conducting joint research projects, collaboration on the application of AI technology in various fields, and the signing of Memorandums of Understanding between universities of the two nations.

Next, the Union Minister toured the technology exhibitions displayed at the 2nd Belt and Road Initiative Science and Technology Exchange Conference. On the morning of June 11, Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd Belt and Road Initiative Science and Technology Exchange Conference.

Later, in the afternoon, the Union Minister delivered the opening remarks at the "Goals and Practice of Poverty Alleviation Through Science and Technology" forum. Following this, the Union Minister attended and participated in discussions at the Science and Technology Exchange Belt and Road Ministerial Level Meeting, it’s learnt.
