Cordially exchanged views: MoI UM received CE of TPE from Russian Federation

Union Minister for Industry, Dr. Charlie Than, received Mr. Aleksandr Senin, Chief Engineer of Tyazhpromexport Co., Ltd. (TPE) from the Russian Federation, at the reception hall of the Ministry, Office No. 30 in Nay Pyi Taw on June 9.

During the meeting, both sides openly and cordially exchanged views and discussed various matters to ensure the successful operation of the No. 2 Steel Plant (Pinpet), including the collaboration of technical experts from TPE and Myanmar in the reactivation and trial operations of the oxygen plant, recommendations and discussions on methods to enhance the efficient operation of the Romelt plant, measures to ensure the sustainable and continuous operation of the factory, technology transfer and training programs by the National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) of the Russian Federation for engineers from the Ministry of Industry on iron and steel production technologies, as well as the machinery installed in the plant’s various units, furthering technical cooperation by subject area, strengthening this project as a symbol of friendship and cooperation between Russia and Myanmar.

Following the discussions, the Union Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the Russian Federation government for its technical support and provision of spare parts, contributing to the early operation of the Romelt plant.
