Inspection of forest school: MoNREC UM inspected Myanmar forest school

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U Khin Maung Yi, accompanied by responsible officials, visited the Myanmar Forest School in Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Region, in the afternoon on June 9.

During the visit, the Union Minister inspected the condition and proper arrangement of student dormitories, the ongoing teaching activities in the computer lab and classrooms, and the maintenance of cleanliness and beautification within the campus. He also addressed the requirements presented during the inspection.

Following that, the Union Minister proceeded to the Doe Kwin Nursery Garden in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, where he inspected the plantation of over 140,000 saplings of 14 different tree species, the conservation of 20 species of medicinal gum-bearing plants, and the protection of 60 rare and endangered Myanmar native orchid species.

In response to the reports by the responsible personnel, the Union Minister instructed to promote greater greenery in and around Pyin Oo Lwin Township, enhance greenery along roadsides, preserve wetlands and watershed areas, and accelerate efforts to establish Pyin Oo Lwin as a “Cherry City.”
