Receiving Chinese Ambassador: MoIP UM received Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia, and members at the reception hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on June 9.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the long-standing fraternal and friendly relations between Myanmar and China, the recent celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and the solidarity and mutual assistance demonstrated between the peoples of both nations. The Union Minister expressed gratitude for the prompt support and humanitarian aid provided by China during the recent powerful earthquake in Myanmar.

They also discussed the need for coordination regarding cross-border movement of citizens through official border checkpoints, the facilitation of visa and residency processes for Chinese nationals investing in Myanmar, and the repatriation of illegal Chinese migrants based on bilateral friendship and mutual understanding. The importance of ensuring legal entry and exit of nationals from both countries through immigration screening and regulation was also emphasized.

Furthermore, they exchanged open and cordial views on continued collaboration between Myanmar’s Ministry of Immigration and Population and China’s Ministry of Public Security in matters related to immigration management and control.
