







The 2025 Tree Planting Ceremony, organized by the families of the Commander-in-Chief Office (Army, Navy, Air), was held on Friday at the site near Yezin Dam in Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of conserving the natural environment, which has been deteriorated by human activities.
He noted that the country’s forest coverage has remained about 42.6%, and that special emphasis has been placed on environmental conservation efforts since assuming State duties. He called for continued conservation of the natural environment, which has been impacted by both man-made activities and climate change.
Following the speech, the planting of teak trees and various saplings took place at designated locations. A total of 2,400 saplings were planted during the event in Nay Pyi Taw. The families of the Commander-in-Chief Office (Army, Navy, Air) have been organizing tree planting events since 2011, and this event marked the 42nd such occasion.
To date, over 203,000 hardwood, perennial, and windbreaker trees have been planted by the families for the conservation of the natural environment and ecosystem in the surrounding areas of Yezin Dam. In addition, over 152,000 saplings have been planted at respective military commands as part of monsoon tree planting initiatives.
