Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, accompanied by concerned officials attended a ceremony at Dahakkone Village Monastery in Tatkone Township on Friday to provide monsoon cotton, paddy and inputs to the cooperative member farmers.

He urged the farmers to use quality strains, improve land, ensure adequate water and apply proper cultivation methods to meet targeted yield. Inputs will be provided in coordination with the National Economic Promotion Fund, Cooperative Association Fund and input suppliers. This was followed by reports on cotton seed production and distribution, along with presentations by the cooperative member farmers. Raka 666 cotton seeds, SinThukha paddy seeds and SanWaddy natural fertilizers were then distributed to cotton and paddy farmers in the township.

The Union Minister and party later inspected the water supply condition of the Sinthay diversion weir and reviewed current measures to prevent shortages. The Union Minister provided necessary instructions after hearing the reports from the relevant officials. They then inspected the Morning Star Food-Processing Company in Pobbathiri Township.

The Union Minister reviewed the entrepreneurs' reports and urged collective effort to ensure the success of the business. They later proceeded to 60-foot and 120-foot RC bridge construction sites on SinThay Creek Bridge in Pobbathiri Township. The Union Minister instructed the staff to complete the projects on time and meet quality standards.
