Providing Assistance : Meeting with Rakhine Ethnic Associations

A meeting with Rakhine ethnic associations was held at the Yangon Region Government Office on Saturday with the attendance of Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn. 

The ceremony began with the screening of video clips including the performance of “Yoma Yansi” song, and the documentaries on unique beauty of Rakhine State, and earthquake rehabilitation efforts. In his address, the Union Minister stated that the meeting aimed to support and encourage Rakhine ethnic people, currently residing in Yangon due to various circumstances. 

He stressed that in the aftermath of Cyclone Mocha in Rakhine State, both the government and the public worked together to provide assistance, striving to restore conditions to a state better than before under the guidance of the Prime Minister. 

He added that national development depends on peace and stability, and all are urged to make collective action to achieve peace, upholding the patriotism for the future of the nation. He pledged that two months’ worth of food supplies will be provided to displaced Rakhine ethnic individuals.
