School Enrolment Day: Students enrolment accepted through May 22 to June 1

The School Enrollment Day ceremony for 2025-2026 academic year was held at No.10 Basic Education High School in Nay Pyi Taw Zabuthiri Township on Thursday.

Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe attended the event and made a speech, saying that the academic year will commence on June 2, and the enrollment period has been designated from May 22 through June 1. He added that the Ministry of Education is distributing free school textbooks, stationery supplies, and school uniforms to all enrolled students.

He also highlighted that temporary school buildings have also been arranged at the damaged schools in the quake-hit areas, ensuring academic learning of all students. He outlined the plan for extended opening of four more schools for industrial, agriculture and livestock high schools during this academic year. He called for cooperation of all concerned personnel and public in ensuring enrollment of all-school-going aged children.

During the ceremony, text books, exercise books, stationery and school uniforms were provided to the respective township education officers. The Union Minister and party later viewed the school enrolment process. They then proceeded to No.2 and No.5 Basic Education High Schools in Meiktila of Mandalay Region and inspected the school upgrading works, while encouraging the students and parents who came to enroll for the new academic year.
