MADB announcement: 2025 monsoon season crop loan disbursement plan

Announcement from the Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank under the Ministry of Planning and Finance issued an announcement on the "2025 Monsoon Season Crop Loan Disbursement Plan" on May 19.

The announcement reads…the Ministry of Planning and Finance and the Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank (MADB) provide annual crop loans to farmers across Myanmar.

Farmers, in turn, have been repaying their loans on time after harvest, fostering a cooperative relationship between the bank and farmers to support the development of the agricultural sector. Crop loans are disbursed according to the planting season. Farmers are eligible for new loans only after fully settling their previous loans (including principal and interest).

Additionally, MADB offers short-term and long-term development loans in compliance with set regulations. For the 2025 monsoon season crop loans, disbursement has begun starting from 19th May, 2025 to eligible farmers who have fully repaid their previous loans.

As in previous years, the loans carry an annual interest rate of 5% and are being issued through respective district and township bank branches. Therefore, farmers who have fully repaid their previous loans are urged to promptly contact the Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank or the relevant district/township branches to ensure timely access to the 2025 monsoon season crop loans.
