Combating Online Fraud Cases: 15 illegal immigrants detained on May 17

15 illegal immigrants were detained on Saturday at Mae Htaw Thalay (KK Park) area in Myawady of Kayin State.

These illegal immigrants include the citizens of Cambodia, China, Kenya, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Kazakhstan who entered Myanmar illegally through the border routes via some neighbouring countries. They will be deported to their countries after necessary immigration process.

From 30th January to 17th May 2025, a total of 9,086 illegal immigrants were detained and more than 8,400 of them have already been deported to their respective countries via Thailand. The Government is taking effective action on illegal online fraud cases in cooperation with the international organizations including the neighbouring countries.
