Science and Technology: MOST Union Minister makes inspection tour

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw made insepctions at universities and schools under the Ministry in Yangon and Ayeyawady Regions for swift reopening of the schools.

On 15th May, the Union Minister visited the Technological University (Hmawbi) and met with the rector, pro-rector, professors and faculty members. He instructed to make systematic preparations for reopening of the university in early June, and to ensure quality learning and teaching environment, emphasizing on the emergence of qualified and innovative engineers and experts who can contribute the interest of the nation.

The Union Minister also inspected the earthquake damaged classrooms and buildings and coordinated requirements. On 16th May in Maubin Township of Ayeyawady Region, the Union Minister visited Faculties of Computing and Engineering at Polytechnic University (Maubin) and Government Technological High School (Maubin) and inspected the classrooms, computer and lab rooms, preparations to practice Learning Management System, using Information and Communication Technology, workshops and teaching aids and arrangements to conduct short-term vocational training courses.

The Union Minister also met with the rector, pro-rector and faculty members and encouraged them to make concerted efforts to turn out computer specialists for the development of the nation.

On arrival at Technological University (Pathein) and Government Technological High School (Pathein) on 17th May, the Union Minister inspected main buildings, classrooms, computer and lab rooms, workshops, football ground, staff housings and student dormitories.

He also met with the pro-rector, principal and faculty members and instructed for nurturing students to become qualified experts and specialists who can contribute in regional and national development process. The Union Minister also inspected the Government Technical Institute (Pathein) project and gave necessary instructions.
