Agricultural Sector: MoALI DM makes field inspections in Yamethin

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut made a field inspection of implentations for taget yielding rate of pre-monsoon long staple cotton, seed producing plantations of Aung Naing Toe paddy strain and plantation fields of the farmers who were affected by the earthquake in Yametin Township, Mandalay Region on 14th May.

Then, the deputy minister cordially met with the local cotton farmers at the Modal Cotton plantation field in Katin ကတင် Village. Next, the deputy minister inspected the water storage system and distribution of water at Katin lake and instructed the needs.

After that, he met with famers at Shwe Taung-10 Modal cotton plantation field in SeGyi village where he made technical suggestions. Then, the deputy minister looked into the successful plantation of Aung Naing Toe paddy plantation in Ingyin Kan Village of Yamethin Township where he also made technical suggestions to the famers and staff.

In the evening, the deputy minister inspected the damaged staff-housings in Sipin Compound under Agricultural Research Department at which were affected by the earthquake and called for careful irirgation and entrance of heavy machineries within the 6-month post earthquake period.

Similarly, the deputy minister inspected the research and developmental works at Mae Aung Kan Compound under the dry region crops central research department of the Agricultural Research Department withtin the fiscal year 2025-2026 and instructed the facts to be carried out in detail to establish the Biodiversity Conservation Centre.
