Reconstrution Plan: Technical reveiw on reconstruction of dams and reservoirs

A coordination meeting on the technical reveiw on the survey for reconstruction of dams and reservoirs, damaged by the powerful Mandalay earthquake was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation on Wednesday.

Union Minister U Min Naung attended the meeting and made an opening speech. The survey was jointly conducted by the engineers from Myanmar National Committee on Large Dams and Association of Former Staff from Irrigation Department.

The meeting reviewed the reconstruction plans for Yan Aung Myin Dam, Chaung Ma Gyi Dam and Yay Ngan Dams under the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and the dams and reservoirs under the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department.

The meeting also decided to relocate the Samone Conduit in Wuntwin Township, since its foundation layers were damaged by the earthquake. The meeting also discussed the plans to reinforce the existing facilities and to draft the structural design with can be resilient to the potential future earthquake and flood.
