





Under the guidance of the National Disaster Management Committee and the supervision of the Rakhine State Government and Yangon Region Government, rice and essential food supplies are being transported by ships to Rakhine State.
In the morning on May 12, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, along with members of the state government and relevant officials, visited the multipurpose port in Sittwe to inspect the arrival of rice, basic food items, and consumer goods transported from Yangon by the MV Taw Win Thiri, MV Shwe Paing Phyo, and MV Ye Tun Aung (2).
The Chief Minister gave instructions to ensure the fastest possible distribution and sale of the goods in the markets, to avoid spoilage and loss, and to carry out operations safely and efficiently. They also coordinated with responsible personnel to address any immediate needs.
The shipments included MV Taw Win Thiri with 411 tons of rice and food items, MV Shwe Paing Phyo with over 1,400 tons and MV Ye Htut Aung (2) with over 1,000 tons. These vessels successfully arrived in Sittwe to support local needs.
