Inspection Tour: Damage assessment at the quake-hit Mandalay Region

Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein, accompanied by other concerned officials visited the earthquake-affected offices under the Ministry in Mandalay on Friday. They visited the Myanmar Economic Bank Branch 1, 2 and 3, Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank and the Central Statistics Office.

During the visit, they inspected the earthquake damage, coordinated ongoing repair and restoration effort and met with the staff. They then proceeded to the Kyaukse Township Internal Revenue Department, PyawBwe Township Myanma Economic Bank and Planning Department and Yamaethin Township Myanma Economic Bank and Internal Revenue Department. They warmly met with the staff during the visit.

The Union Minister urged teamwork, adherence to rules, timely problem-solving while providing civil services responsibly. He then fulfilled the needs and provided cash assistance and basic supplies to staff and their families. Efforts are being made to address earthquake damage, prepare for major repairs and ensure uninterrupted financial, banking and public services at the offices under the Ministry in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions.
