








Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U Khin Maung Yi, accompanied by relevant officials, visited Myanmar Timber Enterprise’s No. (89) sawmill located in the Ketumati new town of Taungoo Township, Bago Region, on May 5. The Minister inspected the condition of timber processing operations at the sawmill.
During the inspection, officials provided explanations on the arrival of timber logs at the sawmill, the current progress of timber processing, distribution, and remaining stock. The Union Minister gave necessary instructions based on the updates provided.
Following this, the Union Minister visited the Kan Yoe Teak Plantation in Taungoo Township. He inspected over 15,000 specially planted trees from 25 different species and the condition of a mixed-species plantation involving 18 tree varieties within the forest Department compound. Officials presented the plantation’s current status, and the Union Minister issued further instructions as necessary.
Later, the Union Minister met with district and township-level staff at the Taungoo Township Environmental Conservation Department office. He delivered a speech, discussed submitted matters, and provided coordinated solutions and guidance.
Subsequently, the Union Minister proceeded to No. (88) sawmill in Oaktwin Township to conduct an inspection. Officials there provided updates, and the Union Minister emphasized ensuring workplace safety and maintaining momentum in operations.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the Myanmar Timber Enterprise’s Bawdhikone Timber Jetty in Oaktwin Township. He coordinated necessary matters and inspected the condition of timber log stockpiles at the jetty, issuing further directives as needed.
