Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Min Naung, on May 5, met with trainee teachers attending a pedagogical refresher course being held at Yezin Agricultural University in Nay Pyi Taw. The course is aimed at preparing teachers to teach Grades 10, 11, and 12 in Basic Education and Technical, Agricultural, and Livestock High Schools.

During the event, the Union Minister delivered a speech, emphasizing that the quality of the teachers is crucial to ensure not only the delivery of curriculum content but also to effectively bridge theory with practical applications and real-world skills.

He noted that for those transitioning from agricultural and livestock education roles to teaching roles, it is essential to study and practice teaching methodologies in advance. He also stressed the importance of understanding lesson content, assessment and grading systems, and how these directly impact the educational future of the students.

Following the address, Directors-General and Rectors in attendance discussed key areas the trainees must observe during the training period, including accommodation, meals, and general welfare.
