Chairman of the Electric Power and Energy Development Commission State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister at the Prime Minister's Office Admiral Tin Aung San, accompanied by other concerned officials visited the 30 MW solar power plant in Thazi Township on Friday.

Officials provided reports on the power generation status of Thazi, ThaPyayWa and Tha Pyaywa-3 (30MW) solar power plants, earthquake-related damage, repair progress and the status of power transmission to the national grid.

The Union Minister then heard reports on the newly constructed 40 MW Thazi and 40 MW ThaPyayWa plants. He called for swift completion of repairs, readiness for future disasters and adherence to project timelines. The Union Minister and party later inspected earthquake damage, power operations and the 40 MW Thazi project expansions.

The Union Minister gave necessary instructions and provided food supplies to staff. They then proceeded to the Thapyaywa-3 and Thapyaywa 30 MW solar plants to inspect earthquake damage, power generation and the expansion site for the new 40 MW project.

After the inspection, the food supplies were provided to the staff. The March 28 Mandalay earthquake damaged the Thazi, ThaPyaywa and ThaPyaywa-3 solar power plants, reducing electricity output. Restoration is underway, with 80% of power already resumed and supplied to the national grid. Remaining repairs are being expedited to restore full generation.
