







Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin on May 1st accompanied by Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mra Zan and concerned officials visited the monastery of Sitagu Sayadawgyi in Sagaing Region.
The Union Minister and party paid homage to the Sayadaw, donated offertories and supplicated the matters to renovate quake affected pagodas and cetis within the region. A total of seven pagodas, namely Sun-U Ponnya Shin, Yadana Htut Khaung, Maha Ceti, Ma Shi Kha Na, Ceti Hla, Shin Pin Nan Kine and Kaung Hmu Taw will be renovated under the supervision of the Sitagu Sayadawgyi.
Then, the Union Minister and party inspected the Gu Phaya at Kyaik Lat Chaung where murals from 14 AD in different image of Lord Buddha, religious painting designs and 16 dream of King Kawsala were inscripted, and instructed for timely completion of the restoration works before rainy season.
The Union Minister also inspected Chin Thae Thone Sae Pagoda, Shin Pin Nan Kine Pagoda, Lay Kyun Man Aung Pagoda, Sun-U Ponnya Shin Pagoda and Ti Lawka Guru Cave. During the inspection, the Union Minister stressed for rapid completion of renovation processes of quake affected part of the pagoda with the contribution of donors and well-wishers ensuring the sustainable resistance of the murals.
Then, the Union Minister and party proceeded the Buddha and Cultural Museum in Sagaing and viewed the displayed Buddha image, religious utensil, lacquerware products and other collected items in the region.
He also instructed for implementation of renovation tasks in coordination with the experts. In the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected the cleaning of debris at Ma Shi Khana Pagoda, Ceti Hla Pagoda, Yaza Manisula Pagoda, Htuparyon Pagoda and Maha Ceti.
