




Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, along with responsible officials, on 1st of May, visited Sittwe to observe the joint clean-up activities conducted by fire brigade members and relevant departments in commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of Myanmar Fire Brigade Day at the Atula Marazein Pyilonchanthar Pagoda. They also inspected the ongoing development projects in Sittwe.
First, the Chief Minister and officials paid homage to the Atula Marazein Pyilonchanthar Pagoda, offering flowers, water, and oil lamps. They then observed the collective clean-up efforts around the pagoda’s platform and ordination hall, both inside and outside the compound, to ensure cleanliness and order. Necessary instructions were coordinated with the responsible officials.
After that, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the ongoing placement of 300 tetrapods along the Section 3 near the Point rest area. These tetrapods are being installed as wave-breakers to protect against tidal surges. They assessed the progress and directed officials to address any requirements.
Additionally, the Chief Minister and officials reviewed the placement of the prepared tetrapods and the leveling of ground in necessary areas using machinery. Considering tidal fluctuations and weather conditions, they instructed officials to ensure the work is completed safely within the designated timeframe.
