Inspection of Training Center: MoEA UM inspected vocational training center in Taunggyi

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Khun Thant Zaw Htoo accompanied by Shan State Minister for Ethnic Affairs, the Director General and relevant officials, on April 30, inspected the Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center in Aye Tharyar Town, Taunggyi Township, which was damaged by the Mandalay earthquake.

First, the Union Minister met with staff members inside the training center’s main hall and emphasized that each staff member must dutifully fulfill their responsibilities according to their respective positions. He stressed the importance of fostering the spirit of national unity under the theme “We are Myanmar”, especially in the field of ethnic affairs. He added that during this time of natural disaster, it is essential to work together in unity under the leadership of the state to rebuild and improve upon the original condition.

Following this, the Shan State Minister for Ethnic Affairs gave words of encouragement to the staff. Then, directors from various departments under the Shan State Department of Ethnic Affairs delivered PowerPoint presentations on the status of their ongoing operations.

The Director General from the Department for the Protection and Promotion of Ethnic Rights provided additional explanations and discussions. In response to the briefings, the Union Minister coordinated and provided the necessary support to meet the presented needs, and also presented cash assistance to the staff.

Later, the Union Minister and officials inspected areas within the four-story main building of the training center, including the meeting halls, classrooms, offices, and dormitories for trainees, which had sustained damage due to the Mandalay earthquake.

They also inspected the main workshop hall, the dining facilities, and the overall campus area. The Union Minister responded to the reports presented by the officials and ensured that required support would be provided through coordinated efforts.
