Academic Tour: MOST Union Minister inspects academic institutions

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw visited the University of Computer Studies in Taunggyi on Sunday to assess the damages caused by the severe earthquake.

During the inspection, the Union Minister affirmed to conduct assessment survey for renovation process, and inspected the preparations for readiness of the classrooms and computer labs to be reopened in June. They then visited the Government Technical Institute and oversaw the classrooms and workshops to be equipped with the theoretical and practical teaching approach.

The Union Minister and party also inspected the damages of the facilities at the Technological University and Government Technical High School, and instructed to be ready for reopening in June, ensuring the long term durability of the buildings. They also visited the Technological University and Government Technical Institute in Yamethin of Mandalay Region and oversaw the damages caused by the earthquake.
