Tour in Shan State: Providing assistance and damage assessment

Union Minister for Legal Affairs Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo, together with concerned officials visited Kalaw Township Legal office in Shan State (South) on Sunday morning.

During the visit, the Union Minister provided basic food supplies to staff and families affected by Typhoon Yagi as well as the recent earthquake. They also inspected damage to the office building. The Union Minister and party then inspected earthquake-damaged offices and staff housing at the Shan State Advocate General’s Office in the afternoon.

They later visited Hopone Township Office in the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone, assessed damage and provided basic food supplies to the staff. They also met with the officials at the Pa-O Legal Office and gave further instructions.

At the Shan State Government Office, they met with the officers and staff of the Shan State Advocate-General’s Office and district legal offices to discuss work matters. The State Advocate-General and attendees reported on earthquake damages, recovery efforts and their work requirements. The Union Minister and officials then gave necessary instructions.
