








Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw on April 26, visited the Technological University in Kyaukse to inspect damage caused by the earthquake that occurred on March 28.
He assessed the affected buildings and instructed to expedite the clearing tasks of damaged structures, with a proper record of damaged buildings into three categories: minor repairs, major repairs, and complete reconstruction.
He also inspected the availability of electricity and water supply and provided necessary instructions. Following that, the Union Minister and party proceeded to the Government Technical Institute, Government Technical High School, and the Biotechnology Research Department.
He examined the earthquake damaged buildings including academic blocks, classrooms, workshops, football fields, staff housing, and hostels. He emphasized the need to carry out repairs in accordance with guidelines so that the institutions can reopen by early June. Discussions were held regarding the repair needs for classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, workshops, student hostels, and staff housings.
