Healthcare Services: Healthcare Work Committee held a meeting

Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, along with Deputy Minister Professor Dr. Aye Tun, and responsible officials, held a meeting of the Healthcare Work Committee in the meeting hall of the Ministry on April 23.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that the Ministry of Health has been continuously providing healthcare services since the recent earthquake. He noted that Mandalay General Hospital and the 1,000-bed General Hospital have already begun offering cardiac treatment and radiation therapy for cancer patients.

Additionally, he shared that preparations are underway to temporarily open the outpatient department of the specialty hospital for eye, ear, nose, throat, head, and neck surgeries at the Nay Pyi Taw 1,000-bed General Hospital. He also mentioned that medicines donated from abroad are being systematically and promptly distributed.

Later, the Union Minister and officials visited the Department of Medical Services and the Department of Human Resources for Health to inspect earthquake-related damage to the three-story administrative building of the Department of Human Resources for Health (Head Office).

They arranged support for the staff housing and meals and gave necessary instructions and guidance. In the afternoon, the Union Minister also visited the Department of Public Health and the Department of Traditional Medicine to observe the staff carrying out their duties as usual and to assess their living and food conditions. They inquired requirements and provided words of encouragement to the staff.
