Locals and tourists on the Greek island of Santorini are experiencing a range of emotions as an unprecedented series of earthquakes continues to shake the popular destination. Thousands of people have been leaving the island by sea and air for the third consecutive day, amid growing concerns over the tremors.

Anargyros Kafheris, Pensinoer living in Santorini said "I am not worried. I lived through the earthquake of 1956 which was much worse. There is some concern, but not major. I believe the situation will defuse. ">>>> Ted Stathis, owner of Catamarans in Santorini: "Generally, of course, we're a little bit concerned, I have to admit, it's something out of the ordinary. We have had tremors throughout the years, but sporadically. These are just many, many concentrated, and the specialists tell us it's a good thing in a way because the pressure's relieved a bit for the earthquake, so it's a decent thing. The only thing is, they're monitoring, as I've heard, is the strength of them. As long as they start subsiding, we should be in the clear."

Experts admit they have not experienced something similar before, and cannot give a precise estimate on how long it will last. While the situation remains uncertain, authorities are closely monitoring the ongoing seismic activity in hopes of averting any further escalation.
