Officials find 64 missing Haitian children in Chile and Mexico

On Tuesday, the Chilean Investigative Police (PDI) confirmed that they had located the 64 Haitian children who entered Chile between January and April 2025 and who appeared in the preliminary report issued by the Comptroller General’s Office labeled as having no known whereabouts.

According to authorities, 63 of the minors are in Chile, while one is in Mexico. The missing child is a teenager who is not in Chile. Director General of the PDI detailed that all the minors entered our country under a family reunification visa, and therefore have regular immigration status.

Authorities also ruled out the alleged trafficking and exploitation of minors, following irregularities detected by the Comptroller’s Office in its preliminary report on the whereabouts of the children.
