The Indian state of Uttarakhand is hosting the 38th National Games from January 28 to February 14; the event has been dubbed the “Green Games” to highlight environmental sustainability.

Using certified green fireworks, solar-powered heating systems, and cloth-based branding rather than plastic are just a few of the environmentally responsible practices in place as the 38th National Games become green. Sports equipment and e-waste are used to create decorations and selfie spots.

Cork coasters, bamboo water bottles, wheat coffee mugs, and recycled paper programs are examples of eco-friendly welcome kits for athletes. Furthermore, trophies, certificates, and medals are made from wood waste, e-waste, and biodegradable materials. Athletes from all around India will compete in 32 sports and four demonstration events at the 38th National Games.
