Traditional cultural events draw Mid-Autumn crowds

Traditional performances and immersive night tours have drawn crowds across China during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, offering visitors diverse cultural experiences while supporting local tourism and nighttime spending.

In Danzhai County of southwest China’s Guizhou Province, visitors enjoyed celebrations including a series of intangible cultural heritage performances and hands-on activities. The festivities also featured Miao batik, a traditional wax-resist textile dyeing technique. This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, traditionally a time for family reunions and moon viewing, fell on Friday, with a three-day public holiday running from Sept 25 to 27.
