Six missing after building collapses in historic Athens district

Six people are missing following a building collapse triggered by an explosion in Athens' historic Plaka district on Friday. Two women were rescued from an adjacent damaged building and taken to the hospital, while another individual sustained minor injury from flying debris.

Around 30 firefighters were deployed to comb through the rubble. Local authorities suspected a major gas leak caused the explosion and residents also reported smelling gas prior to the blast.
