






Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, U Tin Oo Lwin, along with the Minister for Social Affairs of the Mandalay Regional Government, arrived at the MasoeyeinTaikthit Monastery in Maha Aung MyayTownship,paid respect to the Vice Chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, MasoeyeinTaikthit Maha Nayaka Sayadaw BhaddantaKesarabhivamsa to inquire about his health and offered the offertories and cash donation on December 16.
Next, the Union Minister attended the ceremony of donating 15 copies of the Atthakatha books, which had been printed and published through computer-based methods held at the Dhamma Satiyamonastic building, to the Sayadaws of five monasteries, to honor the efforts made in the printing and dissemination of the Buddhist texts and observed five precepts administered by the Secretary Sayadaw of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, MasoeyeinTaikthit Maha Nayaka Sayadaw BhaddantaVasethabhivamsa.
Then, the Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin also highlighted the importance of the digitalization and printing of the Atthakatha books, the Tipitaka English translations, translation of Tipitaka Pali-Myanmar dictionary into English, and the progress made in the translation and printing of the Buddhist scriptures, in order to preserve and promote Buddhist teachings. He emphasized that these efforts would help contribute to the lasting legacy of the Buddha’s teachings and the enduring development of the Buddhist monastic community.
He expressed his deep appreciation to all the Sayadaws and involved parties for their dedication and urged continued collaboration for the ongoing success of these religious endeavors.The Secretary Sayadawgyi of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee expressed that the process of converting the letterpress printed Pali scriptures, including the Tipitaka and Atthakatha texts, into computer-printed versions by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, is greatly beneficial for the propagation of Buddhism and the monastic community.
This effort has had a significant positive impact, and he urged that it should continue until its completion. He emphasized that the success of these efforts should not rely on the work of one individual alone, but rather on the collective collaboration and dedication of everyone involved, so that these efforts may succeed with the strength of the collective goodwill and determination.
Then, the Union Minister and Mandalay Region Minister for Social Affairs offered the books and offertories including robe to the members of Sangha led by the Secretary Sayadawgyi. The Union Minister also donated 15 copies of Atthakatha books to Presiding Sayadaw of Meiktila monastery in Mahadhammikarama Taik and paidhomage to Nathamyaing Bo monastery Sayadaw BhaddantaSucittabhivamsa and supplicated religious matters, it’s learnt.
