Pyithu Hluttaw Session: 16th day of 2nd regular session held

The 16th day of the second regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw was held today, June 30, at 10:00 AM in the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Of the 351 eligible Hluttaw representatives, 346 were in attendance.

As per the agenda, the session began with the question-and-answer program. U Sai Wun Sam from the Mongkhat constituency asked whether there is a plan to construct one 20-foot-long concrete bridge on the 3/0-mile dirt road between Huei Phwe and Pa Pi villages in Mongkhat Township, and if so, when it would be built. U Htay Lwin (also known as U Dee Lone) from the Namhsan constituency inquired about the remaining 16 miles of asphalt road out of the total 19.5 miles on the Namhsan-Mongnai main road within Namhsan Township, and when it could be completed. Daw Khin Than Myint from the Ngapudaw constituency asked whether there is a plan to systematically construct safe and secure staff housing for teachers serving in rural schools across Myanmar on a yearly project basis. U Aung Win Swe from the Myanaung constituency asked whether there is a plan to open a teacher training institute/college of education in Myanaung, Ayeyawady Region. Along with these, a total of nine questions were raised. The responses were provided by Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Major General Kyaw Swe Oo, and Deputy Ministers for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing and Dr. Zaw Myint.

Today's session was adjourned at 11:20 AM. The 17th day of the session will continue on July 1 at 10:00 AM, it’s reported.
