










The Ministry of Information held the 2026 Monsoon Tree Planting and Fish Releasing Ceremony at the Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) Complex in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister U Htein Lin said the ceremony was organized in response to seasonal changes and extreme weather, noting that central Myanmar, including Tatkone Township, is among the hottest and driest regions. He said the tree planting aims to improve the environment, while the fish releasing ceremony seeks to increase fish resources, boost fish production and support staff welfare.
The Union Minister distributed saplings to the ministry's offices and departments. The Staff Officer of Township Forest Department then handed over saplings to MRTV’s Director-General for tree planting event. The Union Minister later planted a mahogany tree, followed by officials and staff at designated locations.
He also observed the staff’s collective plantation of 500 Sein Ta Lone mango trees, duck and goat farming activities. During the ceremony, a total of 1,200 trees and saplings, along with 500 Sein Ta Lone mango trees, were planted, and 5,000 catfish were collectively released.
