Providing healthcare and assistance: Mon State gov. provided healthcare and assistance

Organized by the Mon State Government, a ceremony for providing healthcare and assistance to the retired civil service personnel was held at the Mawlamyine General Hospital on October 29.  The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyine Thein, state government ministers, departmental officials, and retired civil servants.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that from January to September 2024, healthcare services had been provided to 6,436 retired civil service personnel in Mon State, including diabetes screenings for 4,499 individuals and cardiac exams for 904 ones. He emphasized that the government would continue prioritizing monthly healthcare support and basic food provisions for retired civil servants.

Following this, the Chief Minister and state ministers distributed essential food items and refreshments to the retired civil servants.

The Chief Minister also visited the hospital to observe healthcare providing medical check-ups and treatments for the retirees, warmly engaging with those receiving care.

The Mon State Government also distributed rice and eggs as essential food items to 300 retired civil servants in Mawlamyine, along with providing necessary healthcare service.

On the same day, Chief Minister U Aung Kyine Thein, state ministers, officials attended a ceremony to receive the words of advice from the Chief Minister by the students who will attend the Union National Races Youth Development University (Sagaing) and the Union National Races Youth Resource Development Degree Colleges (Yangon and Sagaing) for the 2024-2025 academic year, held at Aung San Hall of Mon State Government office.

The ceremony began with individual introductions from the students, after which the Chief Minister addressed them, announcing that for the 2024-2025 academic year, a total of 43 students from Mon State had been selected to attend these University and colleges including 9 for the University for the Development of National Races of the Union (Sagaing) and 34 for the Degree Colleges for National Youths’ Skills Development (Yangon and Sagaing). He emphasized that these institutions were established with the aim of fostering unity and a strong Union spirit among ethnic groups, as well as developing human resources among ethnic youth. He encouraged the students to work hard and become responsible citizens of the country, understanding the noble purpose of the nation and committing themselves to serve the country in the future.

After that, the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col. Kyaw Swer Myint clarified regarding with the selection of the trainees, the Chief Minister provided cash assistance for the students and cordially greeted them.
