Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo wins presidential election

Indonesia's election commission has announced that Defense Minister PrabowoSubianto won the presidential election held last month.

Authorities released the results of the February 14 vote on Wednesday after more than a month of ballot-counting was completed. The final tally showed that Prabowo won 96.21 million votes, or 58.6 percent of those cast. The president-elect pledged to continue Joko's policies, which include relocating the country's capital.
