Chinese commerce minister meets with EU trade commissioner in Beijing

Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič held a two-day meeting in Beijing starting on Thursday. Šefčovič also met with EU business representatives in Beijing to discuss improving market access and economic security.

Discussions focused on rebalancing the EU's goods trade deficit with China which exceeds 1 billion euro a day as well as Chinese export curbs on rare earths and critical minerals.
