Afghan hospitals at breaking point after casualties from quakes surpass 4,000

Hospitals in west Afghanistan have already been overstretched as thousands of injured people from the quake-hit areas are coming to get treatment.

According to the latest data, the two deadly earthquakes, both with a magnitude of 6.2, jolted in three provinces as well as the adjoining areas on Saturday, causing more than 4,000 deaths and injuries.  The casualties from the quakes are expected to rise as the rescue and search operations are still underway.
