






The three-day Science Festival 2023, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and ROSATOM of Russia, concluded in Yangon on Friday. The event aimed to promote scientific knowledge and encourage innovative research in support of national objectives and people-centered development.
On the third day of the festival, Deputy Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Aung Zeya, accompanied by ministry officials and representatives from ROSATOM and the Russian National Research Nuclear University (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), visited Technological University in Yangon.
They observed booths displayed by various departments, including the Atomic Energy Department, Research and Innovative Department, Technological University, and Universities of Computer Studies as well as the presentations on poster.
During his tour, the Deputy Minister gave instructions, emphasizing on the importance of innovative and research work to achieve the state's objectives. He also stressed the need to disseminate research findings to relevant ministries and private entrepreneurs to further support the country's development goals.
Later, the Deputy Minister and party visited the Nuclear Technology Information Centre, where they encouraged students from Technological University and Universities of Computer Studies who were on a study tour.
The Deputy Minister instructed the students to pursue further studies on technologies related to research work and their practical applications for the benefit of the country.
In the afternoon, the Deputy Minister and party attended the closing ceremony of the Science Festival 2023 at the Nuclear Technology Information Centre.
As part of the event, attendees enjoyed the documentary video "Nuclear Now" by Oliver Stone. Subsequently, professors from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute addressed questions raised by the audience regarding the video.
The Science Festival served as a platform for students, ranging from Basic Education High Schools to Universities, and young experts in various fields to acquire knowledge and experience in technologies, including nuclear technology.
The event aimed to foster interest in science and enhance the mindset of youth within the education sector. Additionally, it aimed to facilitate the peaceful utilization of nuclear power through the sharing of knowledge via media outlets.
