Anti-human trafficking meeting: Cooperation to combat trafficking in persons discussed

Hosted by Myanmar, the 22nd Meeting on Cooperation to Combat Trafficking in Persons between Myanmar Police Force and Department of Special Investigation of Thailand was held at Park Royal hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 22nd May and 15 representatives led by Police Brigadier General Myint Htoo from Myanmar Police Force, Commander of Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force, 6 representatives led by the Deputy Director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Department, Department of Special Investigation of Thailand Pol. Maj. Arit Tatsaphan, totaling 21 representatives attended.

In the meeting, they reviewed and discussed the work implementation status upon the decisions of the previous 21st meeting, human-trafficking conditions in Myanmar-Thailand border during 2022-2023, the preventive measures on human-trafficking, exchanging views on the changing patterns and trends of human trafficking and illegal immigration at Myanmar-Thailand border and further bilateral cooperation regarding with the transfer of Myanmar nationals from Thailand as trafficked victims who have not been trafficked and then, the meeting was concluded.
