Repair and reinforcement work is continuing at Ma Mya Dam in Myanaung Township of Ayeyawady Region, to prevent further subsidence of the dam crest. Workers are strengthening the dam’s base, building a rock toe for added support, and lowering the dam's water level.

By the evening of October 15, 330 ft of embankment reinforcement had been completed, measuring 60 ft wide and 12 ft high. At 6 p.m., the dam's water level stood at 307.6 ft, down 7.3 ft from its previous level. Work is also underway to deepen and widen the emergency spillway to improve water flow. Officials, military personnel, police, firefighters, technical experts and other staff are working together to carry out the repairs. The dam’s condition was reported to be stable.
