

Workers and activists in Seoul marked May Day on Monday, calling for higher salaries and better working conditions, among other demands.In South Korea, over 100,000 people had planned to attend various rallies across the country in its biggest May Day gatherings since the pandemic began in early 2020, according to organizers.
The two main rallies in Seoul were expected to draw about 30,000 people each.Participants were to listen to speeches by leading union members, sing songs and watch performances before marching through the streets, according to the organizers, the Korean Confederation of Trade Union and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions.
